Technology and the Internet
Technology Tips - Voice Recognition

Technology Tips - Voice Recognition

by Frank Furness CSP

Anyone who knows me well will know that I am a technology geek and have the biggest collection of gadgets imaginable. It's so bad that every time I speak in Hong Kong, the gadget shop owners know me by name. The great thing about gadgets though, is if you use them they can increase the effectiveness of your business greatly. Each month I will be featuring a gadget, software or e-book could will increase your effectiveness. I don't know if anyone else is like me, but sometimes when I have appointments where I try to sell my services, I sometimes don't take notes as comprehensively as I should and sometimes forget important points. A great gadget that has assisted me is the Olympus DS3000 digital voice recorder. Every time I leave a meeting now, I dictate file notes on exactly what went on in the meeting and action plans to follow up. When I get back to the office, I plug in one end of a cord to my voice recorder and the other end to the USB port on my computer and it downloads automatically and saves it as a sound file. Now I can listen to it whenever I want to and not forget anything important. Even better, I have also bought Dragon voice recognition software and trained it to recognise my accent.

Multiple Sources of Income through Technology

I love gadgets and technology and it has completely changed the way that I think and work. It also enables me to choose only the speaking engagements that I want to do while maintaining my earnings. It provides me with income while I sleep, an exit strategy and future pension for my business. Over the last eighteen months I have invested a great deal of time and money to discover what it takes to make technology really work and I would like to share some of these with you.

10 Killer Ways To Multiply Your Sales
1. When you make your first sale, follow-up with the customer. You could follow-up with a "thank you" email and include an advertisement for other products you sell. You could follow-up every few months.
2. You could up sell to your customers. When they're at your order page, tell them about a few extra related products you have for sale. They could just add it to their original order.
3. Tell your customers if they refer four customers to your web site, they will receive a full rebate of their purchase price. This will turn one sale into three sales.
4. When you sell a product, give your customers the option of joining an affiliate program so they can make commissions selling your product. This will multiply the sale you just made.

How to develop a Powerful Salesletter
How to develop a Powerful Salesletter
By Frank Furness
I am presently developing a number of websites. My main website is great, but it also confuses people. I'm selling speaking, training, recruitment services and 42 products. One of the changes I've made is that I am now developing one page websites to promote each product. I'm not the best at doing this kind of thing, so I use a piece of software called 60 second salesletters. I fill in the gaps on the questionnaire and voila -  I have an instant one page website. I can import images, use any payment system for orders, change the colours and look. For me it is ideal because I know nothing about HTML, but can now make my own websites.

What Leaders are Saying

Jana Stansfield

Your program at NSA Colorado was incredibly helpful.  I have been singing your praises and marvelling that you would share that information so generously.

Ian Curran, MD THQ

Rome, April 2008, - an offsite meeting with my reports -  heads of business from across the world, different nationalities, different backgrounds and different business areas. Frank conducted a half day session on day two of the three day meeting.

Frank is energised, motivated and engaging. There was no-one in the room who was not captivated by what he was saying. He had really prepared and tailored his material to fit into my required business outcomes. The whole morning was varied, interesting, moving, thought provoking and uplifting.

My team was left highly motivated for the business year ahead, driven, and armed with tools to help realise action plans. Testament to the impact of Frank's session, is that once back in the office, dealing with daily work issues, the team continues to pull on the resources and motivation gained from Frank.

I would highly recommend Frank - he is one of the best speakers I have ever had the opportunity to experience.

It was pitched perfectly & the feedback from both the audience & senior management was excellent. It certainly fired up the troops and they have gone back to their ‘dens’ with more focus, imagination and ambition

CEO level delegates attending the inaugural Abacus International Online Travel Leaders Retreat rated Frank Furness as one of the most appreciated contributors at the event held in Macau on 4-6 July 2008. His presentation not only provided thought provoking new perspectives for online Travel Agencies, the delegates attending felt that many of the tactics and techniques for online marketing could be implemented almost immediately.
